Vigonier Chersieze 2021

$30

From the producer: "The name Chersieze comes from an antiquated synonym for Viognier that I came across while reading an old text on the history of the Rhône Valley. We knew that we wanted to give each of our wines a fun name, and Chersieze seemed like the perfect fit for our Viognier. Our Viognier was produced likely quite similarly to how vignerons were making Viognier back when it was called Chersieze: by hand, with minimal intervention."

We love it with:

Type: White
Vintage: 2021
Size: 750 mL
ABV: 12.2
Grape: Viognier
Region: Columbia Valley, WA
Vinification: The fruit was hand-harvested and transported to the winery for processing. A quick pigeage à pied (foot stomp in bins) before being basket pressed (hand ratchet wooden basket press). Fermented and aged in 100% stainless steel for 8 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Other than a minimal sulfur add a month before bottling, this wine is as natural as they come.
