La Collina

Quaresimo Lambrusco dell'Emilia

La Collina was founded in 1975 as a coop that would create a tight knit farm family environment where those recoering from drug problems could learn practical skills and produce some of Emilia's most famous exports -- Lambrusco and Parmigiano Reggiano. Forty years later, all of La Collina's dreams have been realized, and then some. They grow vegetables, fruits, cereals, keep livestock, make wine, sausages, honey, pasta, and meat products all while helping young adults with drug problems rehabilitate themselves and learn the joys of biodynamic farming and community. Dark and inky with deep rainier cherry and stewed cranberry notes... and just a hint of mushrooms on the finish.
