Single Cloud 2020

$31

This almost amaro-like chillable red is equal parts herbal / earthy and cranberry / sour cherry. Think wild cherries steeped with black tea, star anise, and cloves. Right now, it's even better on day 2 than on day 1, but we're guessing you'll have a hard time leaving any behind once it's open.

Vinification: 1100 feet elevation in the Mayacamas Mountains. One single acre vineyard that is otherwise too steep to plant on any of its four sides. Planted in red volcanic clay soils. All 8 varieties are planted here. All the grapes are picked together on the same day, stomped with 100% whole clusters and allowed to soak for 3 days of maceration on both skins and stems. Wild fermentation occurs naturally. Aged 9 months in neutral barrels, sur lie the entire time - never racked, then bottled unfined/unfiltered.
